86 years of passion

In 1930, Sophie Mittaz-Couturier, aged 33, bought the pension “La Prairie”. A marvellous adventure had just begun with the help of her sister Virginie Mittaz and her daughter Cécile Couturier aged 13.
This little pension was surrounded with prairies and forest ,chickens, pigs, cows and a big vegetable garden bringing fresh products to the pension’s guests satisfaction.
The pension had the great honour to welcome the famous actor Fernandel.

In 1962, Bernard Pichard, son of Cécile, took over the pension with his wife and decided to expand the pension to a hotel to host a total of 30 rooms.
Today it’s their three daughters, Corine, Nadine and Valérie who are running the hotel.
From a second marriage came Julien, who worked at the hotel until 2012.
First in 1987 and then in 2008, some important restoration work has been done to the hotel. Bernard retired in 2011 after 49 years at the head of the establishment to joyfully leave the continuation of the family traditions to his three daughters.
Today we are looking forward to welcoming you in our warm, family friendly hotel.
